Anne Arundel Tech Council Opens Nominations for TechAwards 07

Anne Arundel Tech Council’s TechAwards honors innovation and success among area technology companies with four nominated awards

Annapolis, MD – September 13, 2007 – The Anne Arundel Tech Council, a non-profit membership organization dedicated to supporting and enriching the area’s growing technology industry, is accepting nominations for its TechAwards 07 celebration in four categories: The Innovator Award, Tech Company of the Year, Tech Service Award and the Good Chip Award. The awards are open to companies operating in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

The winners of the awards will be announced at the 3rd Annual TechAwards 07, held Nov. 6, 6 to 9 pm at the Loews Annapolis Hotel in Annapolis, MD.

The Innovator Award is given to a company that best exemplifies the entrepreneurship and innovative style it takes to keep the technology industry cutting-edge and forward-moving.

The Tech Company of the Year award is handed to the area tech company that has proved its dedication, vision and ability to make things happen by working with a sustained, strategic business plan that has enabled it to steadily grow into a player in the area's tech industry.

The Tech Services Award was created because some of the best tech companies around are service focused. This award honors a company whose core mission is focused on providing a service in any tech-related industry. They are the unsung heroes of the tech community, providing the fundamental basis of continued tech growth.

New this year, the Good Apple Award recognizes  an individual or company that is dedicated to enriching the global or local community through financial or volunteer support or by developing a technology focused on the betterment of the community and world.

Companies can review criteria and questions and submit online at www.aatechcouncil.org/tech-awards.html. Deadline for submissions is September 27. This year’s selection process is a blind voting system: Selection committee members won’t know the name of the company they are reviewing. The top three nominees in each category will be announced by Oct. 8.

This is the third year for the Anne Arundel Tech Council’s TechAwards, a celebration that has increasingly uncovered some of the great stories and innovations in Anne Arundel County’s technology community. Finalists gain high visibility in the region through pre- and post-event marketing and publicity.
